The Eastern Economic Forum hosted the session Railway Logistics of New Times. Realities, Challenges and Opportunities, where Alexandr Kakhidze spoke about plans for the transport and logistics infrastructure development

The discussion was attended by Igor Levitin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Valeriy Prokopchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Primorsky Krai Government, Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Omsk Region Government, and Aleksey Shilo, Deputy Managing Director of the Centre for Corporate Transport Services of Russian Railways.

During the session, Alexandr Kakhidze announced the start of the transport network construction consisting of three core logistics centres on the West Siberian Railway. The total capacity of the future terminals will be 1.6 million TEU.

The participants also discussed the results of the domestic transport and logistics industry development in the new economic realities and the reorientation of cargo flows from West to East.
