International Transport Corridors and Container Logistics Development Discussed at "Transport Week"

20 November 2025

The discussion was organized by the Coordinating Council for Transport. Participants unanimously emphasized the need for close cooperation and market integration to develop joint solutions for balancing cargo flows. Enhancing cargo containerization despite macroeconomic and geopolitical challenges was also identified as a critical issue.

Vladimir Gerus, Deputy General Director of LOGOPER, elaborated on the operational specifics of the Group's terminal network and the impact of modern transport-logistics infrastructure on international transport corridors.

TLC "Artem," launched in September during the Eastern Economic Forum, will become a key node along the "East-West" international transport corridor. This unique national project incorporates advanced technologies, including extended-length trains and container loading in open-top wagons.

As an example, Vladimir Leonidovich highlighted the launch of the export route from TLC "Ural" to China via Kazakhstan. This initiative not only develops the "North-South" corridor but also reduces empty open-top wagon runs by transporting containers that are later transferred to fitting platforms near Astana.

Service and infrastructure development relies on constructive collaboration with Russian Railways and other market participants. The Cooperation Agreement with Russian Railways enables more precise planning of investments, wagon fleet requirements, and loading volumes.

All roundtable participants emphasized the strategic importance of rail networks in integrating the entire Eurasian region into a unified transport system.
