During the Eastern Economic Forum, under the leadership of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a new transport technology was launched – regular shuttle trains via the Suifenhe–Grodikovo railway border crossing, connecting with the Transport and Logistics Centre Artyom, Russia's largest dry port.
The shuttle trains will accelerate and significantly increase the volume of containerised imports and transit cargo, creating a seamless freight route from Northeast China to the Russian Federation and onward to third countries.
The project's implementation creates additional opportunities for increasing cargo flows through the Suifenhe–Grodikovo railway border crossing. The new technology effectively increases its throughput capacity without the need for budget funding.
The launch of regular shuttles continues the development of TLC Artyom as one of the key transport and logistics hubs of the Far East and a focal point for establishing new international freight routes.
